Prayer Letter May 2012

Dear Pastors and Praying friends,

I am reminded daily of how good God is to us. As always, this month has been another where I have seen this ring true. Since our last prayer letter we have seen many things. In Peru things are picking up and even doing better than they were when I was down there. This is truly a testimony to what God can do through men that are surrendered to Him. I am so thankful for Jeremy Hall and all the work that he has done while I have been in the states. He has given himself heartedly to doing the ministry that God has called him to in the country of Peru. If you are looking for a good missionary to support he would definitely fill that gap. The partnerships that he has formed and the men that he is training bring even more promise to the spreading of the gospel in Peru and beyond.

Since our last prayer letter, Joshua has had his last surgery. We ask you to pray for him. We will not know if the surgery was a success until February or March of next year. They extended his soft palate and after 6 months of speech therapy, which starts in August, we should know if he is ready to go. The doctors say he is in pain as his whole mouth tries to shift and get normal again after the surgery. That is the reason we can’t even start speech therapy until August. The surgery also had a few complications. What we thought would be an over night stay ended up being a week in PICU. Those were moments of much concern. We tried to always remember that God is in control, but when you are watching your little boy not be able to breathe well the practice of actually trusting and resting in Him is harder to do than it is to type on this piece of paper.

We are so thankful for one of our supporting churches that sent a very gracious gift to help us with some of the debt load that has been incurred because of all the medical issues with Joshua. It is a privilege to partner with churches like Bible Baptist Church in SD. If you would like to help with this issue as well, you may send a check to Macedonia World Baptist Missions and mark it for debt reduction. God has been so good to us and has confirmed with us time and time again that we are in the right place during these medical issues.

It is very difficult for me not being in Peru every day, but I am so thankful for the blessings that the internet has brought where I can stay up to date, help and counsel through the means of email, Facebook and Skype. I have had the privilege of returning to Peru and I will be going again in July. I am looking forward to that more than you can even imagine! We will be going to be a part of the annual Youth Conference. We will be having Pastor Johnny Nix go to preach this year and we are very excited about that. Please pray for these meetings, that we might see God move mightily and see young men called to preach and people dedicate their lives to Him. Pray also that we might see many souls saved.

We thank you so much for being a part of our ministry in Peru. If it were not for you we could not do what God has called us to. If I can help you in any way, please let me know by emailing at

Yours for Souls around the world,

Chris, Andria, Jacob, Hannah, Andrew and Joshua Gardner
