Gardner Prayer Letter April 2012

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

Another month has come and gone.  God, as always, has been so good to us!  We are thankful for all that He has done in and through us.  Joshua is waiting on his next operation.  It should take place on the 3rd of May.  This is what they are currently saying.  We are waiting to hear from the doctors to make sure that the ENT can do it that day along with the surgeon.  This operation will be fairly complex and we will be staying over night.  Please pray that all this goes well.  The doctor will be going in to cut and stretch his soft palate.  This is a very important step because this is what allows the palate to close and make him able to pronounce words.  This will be the main thing that they will be working on.  Also, another surgeon will close up the 3 holes in the roof of his mouth and then the ENT will check, and depending on the condition of the tubes in his ears they might have to change them.  The doctor says that it will take 2 to 3 months for him to not be sore enough so that they can work through speech therapy and be able to tell whether or not the soft palate is long enough to close the gap.  At that time we will have to have a few months minimum of speech therapy.  Thanks for praying and for thinking of us during this time.

I am so thankful for the day and age that we live in.  Because of technology, I am able to stay in touch with Peru almost daily.  One of the great things that is happening there is that Lighthouse Baptist Church has been able to put a roof on their building.  They are wrapping up the building process and we are so excited for them.  This is the church that I started pastoring at the age of 18.  Many people have heard the story of the man that is the pastor of the church now.  Juan Pacheco is being used greatly of God and we are excited about all that he is doing.  It is amazing to see how God has used Pastor Juan and how he is taking the church to new heights that I did not get to experience.  We are so thankful for one of our supporting churches helping to make this happen.  Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA has been  amazing in the way that they have helped the church.  If you would like to see pictures of the building now, I encourage you to go to our website / blog to see them.  Please visit www.uttermost.net to see the pictures of what God is doing.

If you would like us to visit your church and give an update on what God is doing, please let us know.  We would love to visit your church.  Feel free to email me at chrisandandria@mac.com or call us at 678-646-4692.  We are so thankful to all of you for how you have continued supporting and praying for us during this time.  If we can ever do anything for you please let us know.

I would like to ask you to pray for us as we try and navigate through bills and medical things with Joshua.  Pray that the Lord will provide as he always has.  I speak with my wife often about how I am excited to know that some day down the road we will be able to sit down and talk about the amazing ways that God has provided.  That is the picture that I keep in mind during the current times.  Please continue to pray for us that God would do amazing things here in the states as well as in Peru.

Yours for Souls,
Chris, Andria, Jacob, Hannah, Andrew and Joshua Gardner
